Post-arrival calibration of Hayabusa2's optical navigation cameras (ONCs): Severe effects from touchdown events

چکیده
Accurate measurements of the surface brightness and its spectrophotometric properties are essential for obtaining reliable observations physical material planetary bodies. To measure Ryugu accurately, we calibrated optical navigation cameras (ONCs) Hayabusa2 using both standard stars itself during rendezvous phase including two touchdown operations sampling. These calibration results showed that nadir-viewing telescopic camera (ONC-T) wide-angle (ONC-W1) experienced substantial variation in sensitivity. In particular, ONC-W1 significant sensitivity degradation (~60%) after first operation. We estimated degradations to be caused by front lens contamination fine-grain materials lifted from due thruster gas ascent back maneuver sampler projectile impact upon touchdown. While ONC-T is located very close W1 on spacecraft, was only ~15% over entire phase. If fact dust really main cause degradation, this lighter damage likely resulted protection long hood attached ONC-T. However, because large variations absolute occurred events, which should effect, uncertainty rather (3–4%). On other hand, change relative spectral responsivity (i.e., 0.55-?m-band normalized responsivity) small (1%). The proximity has been well have a (< 1%). Furthermore, increase) full width at half maximum point spread function almost negligible, although blurring effect scattering confirmed W1. events were carefully monitored as time along with time-related deteriorations, such dark current level hot pixels. also conducted new flat-field detector temperature observing onboard lamp validating Ryugu's disk images. these calibrations maintained their scientific performance updating parameters. • Touchdown Hayabusa-2 affected sensor performances largely. Variations sensitivities calibrated. Through calibration, qualities ONC images maintained.

Calibration of Digital Amateur Cameras
We introduce a novel outlook on the self-calibration task, by considering images taken by a camera in motion, allowing for zooming and focusing. Apart from the complex relationship between the lens control settings and the intrinsic camera parameters, a prior o -line calibration allows to neglect the setting of focus, and to x the principal point and aspect ratio throughout distinct views. Thus...

Localization in sensornets determines the location of sensor nodes, and allows applications to make geographically sensitive queries. Smart camera networks must not only be localized, but calibrated. Calibration goes beyond localization to include orientation and position information that is sufficiently fine-grained to allow fusion between overlapping camera views. متن کاملRefractive Calibration of Underwater Cameras
In underwater computer vision, images are influenced by the water in two different ways. First, while still traveling through the water, light is absorbed and scattered, both of which are wavelength dependent, thus create the typical green or blue hue in underwater images. Secondly, when entering the underwater housing, the rays are refracted, affecting image formation geometrically. When using...
متن کاملNew approach for calibration of pixelated scintillation detectors of intraoperative gamma cameras
Introduction:SURGEOSIGHT is a dedicated intra-operative hand-held gamma camera designed and manufactured by our team to be used for lymphoscintigraphy. Although conventional gamma cameras are widely used, they lack the capability of the sentinel lymph node (SLN) imaging in the operation room. Like conventional gamma cameras it is necessary to calibrate SURGEOSIGHT for linearity...
متن کاملSelf-calibration of zooming cameras from a single viewpoint
A con guration which commonly occurs in many imaging applications is that of a camera whose optic centre is xed in location but which may freely rotate while changing its internal parameters by zooming. This is the case in applications such as surveillance, broadcasting and panoramic viewing, where a wide eld of view is captured from a single viewpoint by rotating a camera which is typically mo...
